About the Prairie Keepers partners

Missoula and Ravalli County Weed Districts. We are the public agencies charged with facilitating noxious weed management in Missoula and Ravalli County.  Our approach is  collaborative, and is focused on helping people identify and manage for desired vegetation.  The Missoula County Prairie Keeper Liaison is Marijka Wessner and the Ravalli County Liaison is Bryce Christiaens.

University of Montana Natural Areas Restoration Program. UM owns 600 acres of natural areas in town, including 500 prairie acres on Mt Sentinel and 100 acres of riparian forest and uplands at Fort Missoula, which are managed for native plants and wildlife while allowing for recreation opportunities (like the M trail!).  UM's Prairie Keeper Liaison is Marilyn Marler.  Visit the program website at www.umt.edu/sentinel

The Montana Natural History Center.  We are a non-profit, environmental education center, and our mission is to "promote  and cultivate the appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of nature through education."  Visit us on the web at www.MontanaNaturalist.org

Citizens of Missoula! None of our accomplishments would be possible without the significant public involvement that makes Missoula such a wonderful place to live.
